Is in-class modelling included in the PLD?
Yes, Andy and Erin are always happy to model for teachers.
Research shows that standalone workshops rarely change teacher behaviour and teachers, like students, need to be shown what effective teaching looks like.
What resources or materials are used?
Tools4Teachers is about improving teachers’ pedagogy and practice, they are not about a programme, so Ministry resources are at the forefront of the PLD.
If I attend an online course, will I have access to the recording?
Yes, all participants of online workshops will receive the recording whether they attend live or not.
We know teachers like to go back and refer to the new learning.
Do you provide PLD for teacher aides?
Yes, we acknowledge the value that teacher aides bring to a school and are happy to support them in using the same language and strategies as the classroom teacher.
How long does PLD take?
While ERO guidance and best practice favour sustained, long-term PLD, we understand the heavy demands on schools.
We offer flexible, standalone workshops tailored to support your team when long-term commitments aren't feasible
